Toothy Tips

Toothbrush

Brushing is an important tool in caring for your teeth and gums. Brush your teeth at least twice a day, using a fluoride toothpaste. Use a dry toothbrush and make sure to spit – not rinse after brushing.

Using your toothbrush effectively will prevent a build up of plaque and the problems it causes. Ask the dentist or hygienist for advice on products available.

Dentist

A visit to the dentist lets you know if your mouth is healthy. Your dentist will give advice on looking after your teeth and mouth. Many illnesses can be seen in the mouth, before you are aware of them!

Our practice aims for healthy, happy smiles – our Dental Hygienist can assist you in maintaining your smile.

Diet

Eat a healthy mix of foods at mealtimes. Finishing off a meal with a small piece of cheese can help stop an acid attack. Leave at least two hours between each sugary food or drink.

Snacking and drinking sugary drinks through the day (outwith meal times) can cause tooth decay and tooth erosion.
